In addition to the standard Hugo front matter configuration, this theme supports the following settings:
expiryDate- While this is a standard sonfiguration setting, by default this theme honors the expiration date by also setting an HTML
<meta>tag that tells Google when to pull the result from their index. If you would like to not specify this tag you should also set thenoExpiryMetatag to true. noExpiryMeta- Do not specify that Google should pull the results from expired pages from their index.
noDate- Set this to
trueto have the date not listed in page lists. Also prevents this page from showing up in RSS feeds. hidden- Set this to
trueto have the page not listed in lists including RSS feeds, section lists, the sitemap, and off the home page. Settinghiddenwill cause the page to behave as ifnoIndexwas also set. noNav- Set this to
truein a section’s front matter to have the Section not be listed as a navigational element. TODO does this really matter? noIndex- Set this to
trueto prevent reputable search engines from indexing this page. Do not show this page, media, or resource in search results. If you do not specify this directive, the page, media, or resource may be indexed and shown in search results. Both Google and Bing provide more information on the metadata tags they support. noArchive- Set this to
trueto prevent reputable search engines from serving an archived copy of this page. If you do not specify this directive, Google may generate a cached page and users may access it through the search results. noSnippet- Do not show a text snippet or video preview in the search results for this page. A static image thumbnail (if available) may still be visible. This applies to all forms of search results (at Google: web search, Google Images, Discover). If you do not specify this directive, Google may generate a text snippet and video preview based on information found on the page.
noTranslate- Don’t offer translation of this page in search results. If you don’t specify this directive, Google may provide a translation of the title link and snippet of a search result for results that aren’t in the language of the search query. If the user clicks the translated title link, all further user interaction with the page is through Google Translate, which will automatically translate any links followed.
noImageIndex- Do not index images on this page. If you don’t specify this value, images on the page may be indexed and shown in search results.
socialImage- The unique social image for this page which will override the global configuration. More inforrmation is available on the site configuration page.
The noIndex, noArchive, noExpiryMeta, noSnippet, noTranslate, and noImageIndex flags can also be set site-wide by adding them to the configuration in the Params section of your config.toml (or equivalent if you are using JSON or YAML configuration).
